The CAF Trains Winchester Sheriff's Office in Overdose Reversal

Yesterday, 50 officers in Winchester, Virginia, met at the Frederick County Sheriff's office to learn how to save a life from a heroin or prescription painkiller overdose. A representative of the agency had recently contacted The Chris Atwood Foundation wanting to learn what they could do about the ever increasing rates of Frederick County residents losing their lives to overdose.
Officers left the training, conducted by Ginny Lovitt and Anne Atwood of the Chris Atwood Foundation, with a kit containing all the supplies they need to administer the medication, and the knowledge of how to use it in an overdose situation. The county recently received a grant from Kaleo Pharmacy for 200 doses of the naloxone auto-injector called Evzio, which works just like an Epi-Pen.
