Team Chris did it again! On September 12-13, 2014, twelve runners tackled over 200 miles from Cumberland, Maryland to Washington, DC in an all-day all-night crazy relay event. The team, "Running F.R.E.A.K.S.: Outrunning Addiction" met early to pimp out the team van with recovery encouragement and stigma fighting messages. The first runner set out at 5:45 a.m. and from then on the team was running, sleeping in fields, running, honking and blasting fog horns at other teams, running through wooded trails in the middle of the night, through rain, beating sun, up mountains, and doing it all to show the world that recovery is real! In the process, they raised awareness and funds for the Chris Atwood Foundation's efforts to change the social perception of people suffering with addiction.
Thank you to all our donors for helping us reach our goal!
- The TEAM CHRIS MISISON -
We don't run FROM the fight, we run FOR it.
We run for all the people out there who are facing this debilitating, isolating, and shaming disease. We want all 23 million Americans suffering from addiction to know that they are not alone, that they are loved, and that RECOVERY IS REAL.
Congrats to team
