On October 27, 2013, Team Chris took on 26.2 miles toward ending addiction. They ran the Marine Corps Marathon - in memory of Chris Atwood, and in honor of all those out there who have been affected by addiction.
For three of them this was their first marathon. They challenged themselves and the CAF cause even further by setting a fundraising goal of $21,000 - a thousand dollars for every year of Christopher's short but incredible life. The team met this goal with over a month left, and have raised over $27,000 so far. 100% of proceeds will go to the Chris Atwood Foundation to support our addiction outreach campaigns.
Team members:
Ginny Atwood - Chris' sister
Amanda Thoburn - Chris' Cousin
Allison Byers and Katie Ernst - Ginny's best friends since middle school
Congratulations, girls! And good luck to Spencer and Kinnaird, running the Philadelphia Marathon on November 17!
And a very special THANK YOU to our Team Chris sponsors:
