Opioid Related Deaths have Dropped in Maryland

For the first time in ten years, Maryland has seen a drop in opioid overdose deaths. Due to the heightened concern and spending by the government, the state has seen a 14% decrease in overdose deaths. However, Maryland authorities say the crisis is far from over. The rise of fentanyl, the opioid 50 times stronger than heroin, has fueled a public health crisis of "unprecedented magnitude."
